Dekris Diva - Ziva
Gone but not forgotten
11th May 2010 - 10th February 2020Ziva was our “Foundation Bitch”, but she was also Koti’s daughter and inherited his gentle nature which she generously passed on to all her puppies. As the mother of our first litter, we learned a lot from Ziva as she was a natural mother. Despite having an emergency cesarean half way through giving birth to 7 puppies, Ziva never once complained. A definite pet member of our family, Ziva was happiest just being with us regardless of activity or location.

Ir CH Bowerhinton Bonanza at Gilkaro - Remus
Gone but not forgotten
6th August 2005 - 17th October 2018There will only ever be one Remus; challenged us more than any other, loved harder than imagined, but he taught us so much about Elkhounds and dogs in general. A dog who was brought up in an adult only family: loved all children. Remus also had successes in the show ring, but his biggest success was being Katherine’s constant companion through all of life’s rollercoasters. He was a true ambassador for the breed and a unique character that attracted attention wherever he went.

CH Bowerhinton Bumblebee - Freya
Gone but not forgotten
7th February 2004 - 18th August 2018
Our covergirl Elkhound and certainly one of a kind - The Princess. Freya went through life with an air of superiority that could never be emulated by anyone before or since. She ruled her pack with a silent authority that was respected 100% - Brighton still has the scar to prove it!! As well as being an excellent show dog, Freya was exceptional at obedience training - although she had the attitude to pick and choose when to obey outside of class. She will always hold a special place in our hearts and each time we eat a piece of toast we know she will be watching us with her “toast stare” -
CH Bowerhinton Bright Knight at Cakirjo - Koti
Gone but not forgotten
11th April 2003 - 25th February 2014Koti, like his litter sister Tinc, joined our family as a young adult rather than a puppy. He had not had the best start in life - scared of almost everything and everyone. He blossomed into the most gentle of gentlemen. Koti succeeded in the show ring and loved the 121 time it gave him with Helen. For us, his greatest success was as a therapy dog - his giving nature meant that he could bring a smile to those facing their darkest times and was even requested to visit by an elderly patient in their final days. Koti took his guidance and confidence from Freya which enabled him to live his best life and forget any early problems

Bowerhinton Bright N Early JW - Tinc
Gone but not forgotten
11th April 2003 - 24th January 2014Tinc came to our family when she was almost 3 years old and the mother of Remus. Her previous owner had loved her dearly but understood she would be happier in a quieter home so we welcomed her with open arms. Watching her gentle, yet cheeky, character emerge was magical. From a quiet young girl who didn’t like to play, she became a noisy, boisterous adult who enjoyed her creature comforts and knew how to demand them. She was the first Elkhound to leave us, but her gentleness lives on through the rest of our pack.
